Have you ever found yourself wondering why certain things in your life and your business turn out the way they do?
Why is it that when you choose to commit to something and do it, things go your way, but when you don’t give your all or have doubts, things fall apart quite quickly? Decision making Determines our destiny.
The thing about decision making in all areas of life is your mindset when you step into it. If your head isn’t in the right place, you have doubts—self or otherwise—or you’re not invested fully in your decision, it all comes crashing down in a blaze of glory.
Your state of mind has everything to do with how successful every decision you make in business will be for your future. If you’re fully committed, as in burning the bridges, and there’s no turning back, life around you and your business tend to feel like they’re conspiring on your behalf more and more.
But why is this? Why does decision making determine our destiny in both life and business? How can it be that way?
Today, we wanted to dive a bit deeper into decision making and just why it does have such an impact on your future.
First of all, what is decision making? You would think it’s pretty straightforward, but let’s still have a look.
Do you ever feel like you needed to lose a little extra weight or grow your income every year consistently? Have you tried to commit before to either of them and seen it fall apart? Where was your head when you made these decisions? Was it in the game, or were you hoping by just stating it out loud, it would manifest itself in your life?
Decision making is far more than just stating something aloud and hoping for the best. It’s communicating something that you want for your business and then living that statement each and every day through your actions, choices, and the path you’re creating in doing so.
So, then why does decision making play such a large part in your destiny?
Your actions depend on it.
As stated above, when you decide to do something, there’s power in it. For example, if you choose to increase your customer base tenfold within the next two years, there are two paths ahead of you, and each of them determines your destiny.
You’re either going to step into that decision fully and work tirelessly every day to create new opportunities and develop ways to create that kind of growth. Or you’re simply not. Each of those has a different outcome on your destiny.
Every choice you make from that point on matters.
If you choose to take steps every day toward your goal of increasing your customer base ten-fold over two years, there’s something different that happens to your journey. Decision making in business isn’t just creating something out of thin air. It’s making a choice and deciding if that choice aligns with the future you are working toward, or it is a distraction that derails everything.
But, then if decision making influences my destiny so much, what are some things I can do to transform my destiny and make better decisions?
First of all, burn the bridges!
You aren’t going to take an island if you have a backup plan. So don’t leave yourself a second option for something. When you have precision and complete focus on the only option in front of you, you will find that you make decisions with ease. And every one of them leads you toward the future you’re trying to create.
When you only have one option in front of you, your decision making skills become fine-tuned, and you’ll quickly discover that’s where ingenuity arises.
Tell everyone.
The more people on your team and in your friends and family who know your goals, the more people can hold you accountable for every choice you make for your business. Be sure to write down your decisions so you can also hold yourself accountable.
Know your why.
Intimately understand why you’re creating your business and the goals within that space. If you’re doing it for money or something surface level, it’ll all fall apart quickly. Instead, be sure that your “why” matters deeply to you, your heart, and your soul. There’s nothing quite like deep motivation to keep your focus precise and your heart driven.
Every decision that you make has a direct impact on your destiny. So be sure that you’re taking the time to make the right decisions that fit your goals and the future you want to create. By running every decision through the filter of “does it keep me on the path I want or is this a distraction?” is an excellent way to stay the course for your life and your business.
